So i am a new android user and i bought the phone rooted with a Cryanogen root, but i have to a master reset because there are some old notifications that aren't mine. Will doing a factory reset erase the root data? Sorry for the newbie question but i just want to be sure. I know that when i link back up to google my downloads will be in the download section of the app market so i'm not worried about that, just the rooted part

Factory reset will and should remove the root part. I would suggest crabing the file that is on the phone and re rooting it with what it has. First doing a wipe then install.
