'Twas but a joke... after waiting that long for the durn update, I'm going to try it out a bit first before worrying about GB..
BUT ... on a serious note (Karma - I know..) now I DO have a problem... the screen is stuck on "unlocking your SIM card and setting up your phone" for about 20 mins so far - normal?

i support almost absolute freedom on this forum but someone should at least lock this kind of senseless topics since it's getting harder and harder to filter the ones with real questions and problems and therefor harder to help in all this mess

I've got the same problem on a de-branded, unlocked Orange Desire. Have tried factory reset and just leaving the battery out for a while but it's goosed.
Occasionally it has come up to the home page but it says the SIM is locked. Now it's not getting that far and gets stuck on 'Unlocking your SIM card and setting up your phone...' followed by a 'Force Close' message. If I leave it alone it just continually reboots every few minutes.

I had removed my goldcard for day to day use. To be honest I didn't realise that it would needed for every upgrade since I debranded my phone. Anyway, it's back up and running now.
