Hello All,

New and excited about getting my first android (Vibrant) tomorrow. I have a question regarding T-Mobile pricing for Samsung Vibrant referring to Even More vs Even More Plus plans.

1000 Minutes Talk + Unlimited Text + Unlimited Web (Even More Plus) is \$69.99.
1000 Minutes Talk + Unlimited Text + Unlimited Web (Even More) is \$89.99.

Even more plus requires the purchase of the phone at retail for \$499 while even more brings down the device cost to \$200. Granted that you can split the \$499 phone cost into 20 months worth of payments.

(Assuming you keep the phone for 24 months regardless of contract or not)

Some math now.
500/20 = \$25
\$70 (even more plus) x 24 (months) = \$1680
\$25 (Vibrant) x 20 (months) = \$ 500
Total = \$2180

or

\$90 (even more) x 24 (months) = \$2160
\$200 (VIbrant) = \$200
Total = \$2360

Is my math off somewhere or you save almost \$200 by staying off contract (already a plus)?

-hopefully a new android'er

I ended up saving about \$60 by staying on contract. (I know you're talking 1000 minutes, but figured I would respond anyway)

\$39.99 for 600 minutes = 959.76
\$4.99 for 400 texts = 119.79
\$24.99 for unlimited web = 599.76
\$200 for phone = 200
TOTAL = 1879.31
(1000 minutes is \$49.99 so an extra 240 = 2119.31)

versus yours calculations:

500/20 = \$25
\$70 (even more plus) x 24 (months) = \$1680
\$25 (Vibrant) x 20 (moths) = \$ 500
Total = \$2180

or

\$90 (even more) x 24 (months) = \$2160
\$200 (VIbrant) = \$200
Total = \$2360

ONE THING TO NOTE: They gave me unlimited web for \$24.99 in store but if I go on to T-Mobile it tries to force me to drop my current "android web" and replace it with the \$30 android web... I'm not sure how to resolve this...?

Thanks for the reply, just had to make sure I am sane and I was not the only one that noticed that Tmobile is encouraging people to stay contract-less.

I'm on the Even More Plus plan as well & love it! However, you really only save money IF you don't buy new smartphones every 6 months (like I'm tending to do these days). However, I always sell my previous phone which really helps absorb the price of a new one.
