Yes, it is. Perhaps Google's recent (2015) change to Alphabet as its parent company is confusing you?

Google is a search engine. Android is a mobile phone operating system owned by Google's parent company Alphabet. Android's search uses Google for it's search engine.

Ok, I appreciate that. But, I do not always have to use Google search engine, that is a relief. It was driving me insane. Thanks!

No, you can use what you want for a search engine.

Just to be clear, Google is a company--a very big one.

Its Wikipedia page provides a good summary, starting with:

"Google LLC is an American multinational technology company that specializes in Internet-related services and products, which include online advertising technologies, search engine, cloud computing, software, and hardware. It is considered one of the Big Four technology companies, alongside Amazon, Apple, and Facebook."
