So I followed an online guide to making my phone directly install on the SD card to save up space. It works great for games but it somehow disabled the ability for apps to work as widgets...

I'm guessing that its because the phone no longer recognizes it as a widget (nothing new appears on the add WIdget list). I tried moving the apps back to the phone but still nothing...

How do I work around this? FroYo doesnt seem to be able to move all the apps to SD right now (something about the app makers not allowing it yet) so I forced it to install to the SD card all the time but it broke the widgets.

Also on a side note, is there a way to update apps that were installed non-Market? I dont have WiFi so I download them as apk files and install on my phone... Angry Birds was able to update through the Market but I dont see the other apps on the Download list.
