    Hi all,

So I'm researching custom ROM's. I've followed links from "HTC Desire Custom ROM" threads, and found myself browsing pages of ROM's for the Nexus One.

    n00b question ...

Will a Nexus One ROM work with the HTC Desire?!

    Cheers!

Don't really understand "aosp" or "vanilla" haha. Just trying a few different ones at the moment to see what tickles my fancy the most.

Will bookmark that link and keep an eye on it though!

    Cheers :)

Android open source project. It's what some devs use as a base to build their roms on, but it produces a vanilla Rom. This means no proprietory user interface, eg HTC sense

I didn't think Nexus ROMs worked on Desire or vice versa without someone actively porting them from one to another. Camera hardware's different for starters. Would imagine risk of bricking your phone if you use one type on the other sort of phone.
There's enough custom Desire ROMs out there to not mess about though. Cyanogen for stock, non-Sense Android, AuraxTSense 7.6.1 for Sense.
