This is my quick & frustration free adb sdk setup guide. Ok first things first, Go to your local C: (or whatever letter yours is) & make a folder called sdk & another one called Android-sdk-windows. Download the provided sdk tools zip & extract everything from the zip to sdk, then use link to download sdk manager & install it in the folder you created called sdk-windows, sdk will install all the stuff it needs. Now go to my computer & on the computer icon that's in the bottom left corner right click on the PC icon & select properties, You should now see some option's select Advanced system settings, Yon now should see an option to select Environment Variables choose this. you will see two boxes top one is user variables & the bottom is system variables, this is where you will add the path to adb & sdk. In the bottom box navigate to Path ( DO NOT ERASE ANY OF YOUR SYSTEM VARIABLES ONLY ADD TO THEM OR ELSE BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN ) & select edit & add these to the end of your path " C:\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools;C:\sdk " (without the quotations) & save. Now you will be able to use adb. Open your start menu & select programs then accessories & make a shortcut with your command prompt (copy & paste it) & paste it in sdk & android-sdk-windows folders you created. Now open that command prompt shortcut you made inside the sdk folder & type " cd c:\sdk " (without the quotations) & press enter this should have cd the prompt to the sdk folder, now type adb start-server & press enter it should say starting dameon now blah, blah, blah, now type adb devices it will show you your devices serial number, You now have full adb access, Note when is fastboot mode on the phone when you type adb devices it will say list of attached devices this is normal & all is good, Do whatever fastboot commands you want, like fastboot flash recovery recovery.img or fastboot flash boot boot, img, Just make sure that whatever your gonna fastboot is in the sdk folder. This is also how you MUST UNLOCK THE BOOTLOADER, It's a walk in the park after you do all these steps the HTC Dev site will work like it says it's supposed to, I've pre-compiled the zip just extract & Have fun,
