Help Quick question

I just bought a used pro, and it is Rooted and im actually wanting to go to the 2.3.3 update, my question is
1- If i booted into the boot loader and loaded the un rooted update will it be fine or will i brick it?
2-If it will hurt that then what is a good way to remove root?

OK i think these thread as pretty weak, so i decided if someone else is to stumble onto this ill leave what i found.
I restored the phone with SBF and RSD lite (which took 9 times to take) then updated the first update, then did the last update and then it wouldnt boot again so i booted into recovery mode and cleared cache and restarted. Worked great. then i booted into recovery mode and had it find the gingerbread "update.zip" and now working pretty good as for now
