Quick question

    Hi,

    I have a SGS2, with the ICS on it and I want to format the USB storage.
    The question is, and this may sound stupid, will the OS or part of it get deleted also if I format the internal phone memory?

    No, only thing that'll get deleted are your photos, music etc.

    Even if you factory resetted your phone, ICS will still be there. You won't go back to gingerbread or anything like that! You're safe.
