Hey everyone, I'm Matt and I'm new here.

I have a really quick question about root. I understand what it does, what the risks are, what the pros are and what the cons are.

My only question is what does the root process actually change? Is it changing the boot loader, the rom, or both? If I decide that I don't want to be rooted, would flashing the sbf restore EVERYTHING that rooting does, back to normal? Like would a rooted and then flashed and a non rooted phone would be identical in every single way?

    Thanks for your help!
    -Matt

IOW, yes, Flashing the SBF reverses the rooting process.

    Haha

Does the sbf restore anything I do to the baseband as well?

No, baseband is independent of SBF, IIRC. I liken the baseband updates to BIOS updates on your computer - no matter how many times you format your computer and install Windows, Linux, etc, your BIOS stays the same.

Thats actually incorrect. SBF files will change your baseband. The SPRecovery sbf is the only sbf that will not change your baseband.
