    1. it allows other devices to connect to your phone via wifi and use its 3g connection to connect to the internet

    I added one of the popular wireless tether program and realized it is only WEP encryption. Are there any programs that support WPA encryption?

    Now, if there was just a way to broadcast the 3G signal without PS3 and Wii seeing it as "ad hoc!" UGH :(

    I believe if you pay the 20 bucks a month for tethering it will, but the free versions that come with root will not give you that option

    I thought it was always viewed as an ad-hoc network?
