When's the last time you used your smartphone to talk to someone?

Personally, I find I'm texting far more than voice-calling - texting - that I have to remind myself that this phone can actually make phone calls just like my home phone.

So, how often do you make calls on your phone? ;)

...Most people I interact with either have a text messaging app, or on FB messaging ...so texting is our primary. Lol. :D

I'm actually multitasking right now between here and BBM.

Normally a phone call only comes after email/facebook/lync/sms has failed to get a reply in time... but its nice to know its there if ever i need it.

It's the only phone I have and I work from home so I make/receive a lot of calls. For family though it's probably 50/50 calls/text, I come from a long line of yakkers :)

    About twice a week...

I prefer texting, but elders are slow to adapt...

And once in a while you need to talk right now... lol

I talk on the phone everyday...the wife may call me 20 times a day if I'm at work or not home. She doesn't text much. I do text, but since I'm an older person, I talk with most friends & family members.

If you always text - how do you do business? Say you are looking for a repair shop for your car - it's still easier to call.

I use my phone to make calls most every day. Sure I text, email, look up stuff on the web, but I tell the people I know, "that if it is important that you reach me in a timely manner, then it is important enough for you to call". Text is for minor things, and I will read it when ever I decide to.

Maps will show when most business are open as well as reviews and a link to their website.

Id still probably call for expensive things like a car repair, but for many things you could get by with those

Pretty much every day. I've unlimited minutes as part of my plan, but I only use about 200 a month.

I use my work phone much more though.

Mrs Presidente uses hers constantly, she's family abroad and is on the phone to them quite a bit.

I'm likely to make a couple of calls a day... max. I stay connected with texts. If it weren't for texting.. I'd not even communicate with my four kids. We text constantly.. just a blurb here and there.. not worthy of a call. Through the texts we stay very connected.

Now I've confessed to something a decade ago I would have scoffed at. How life and times change.

You can call me if you want, EP. +86 150 **** ****

I make plenty of local calls, but anything long distance or international, I'll usually IM or VOIP.

I call only a handful of folks. My wife, my parents and my vendors for work. That's about it. Texting is fine, but I like Hangouts more. :)
Between the lady and me, we have 400min since it's the lowest you can get from Verizon. We never touch it (though she uses hers considerably more for work).

I put 'always' because I make or receive calls pretty much every day .. but it's only like one or two and they don't tend to be too long (I'm a guy: setting up meet with friends is a 5 sentence - not 15 minute - call), so 'always' is kinda stretching it. I've never come close to using my 100 minutes a month.

Haven't ever come close to using my 100 texts either .. And I don't exactly hammer my unlimited data ..

Suddenly, I feel like a fraud hanging out here

Don't worry about it. I don't use my phone like as many folks around here and it's generally just a few apps. ;)

I find myself many times typing up a complicated text and halfway through it say (to myself) "screw it" and then just call the other party. Even if they don't answer, it's easier leaving a VM than it is to type a novel.
