so i went into the verizon store today before i got some dinner at moe's and that was a dumb choice on my part because i began playing around with the droid 2 r2d2 special edition, and being a star wars nerd and all i absolutely love the lock screen on it. I was wondering if i could get it to work on the incredible.

It seems they got it working on the x and original droid 2, but not the incredible, and seeing as i am not rooted, and have no intention of trying to do that any way i could get this for my lock screen on the incredible?

Ok, I have R2D2 Whistling as my notification sound, and even I think that's too geeky. But to each his own...

I don't think there is a way to get this (yet) without rooting. I wouldn't be surprised if widgetlocker or lockbot had a clone (no pun intended) of this soon.

i as well have r2d2 as my notification for sms, chewy cries every time i get an email, and now the theme plays as my ringtone. I have gone overboard on star wars, but i just started watching the movies over again so you can't blame me :p
i can only hope widget locker or lockbot get this, i would buy one of those in a second if that was the case.

I too have r2d2 for my sms notifications! haha Then I have yoda informing me that I have a message from the dark side to let me know about new mail.

I'm not a geek like you guys. My SMS notification is a lightsaber opening*.

*Or is that 'powering on' since it isn't really opening?

thats a sweet lock screen. I want. To go with my TIE Fighter and Millenium Falcon sounds, (as well as chewie, 3PO and the rest). But I'm not a geek. nope, not me.

This is me except my ringtone is the Imperial March just because we know that Apple is the good guys and Google is the dark side.

I put the R2D2 boot animation on my phone though so I get more nerd points than you.

since i have last posted this i have bought widget locker and have been waiting on the 1.3 update that is supposed to include support for themes. When this happens you can bet i will be making this.
  11. Ok if you have one of these phones, good luck getting it replaced by Verizon or Asurion Insurance!!! they do not have the phone in stock and will replace it with another droid 2 without the special edition features according to their terms and conditions!!! so basically you are paying insurance for NOTHING!!! If you are lucky then you can find a repair shop that can repair the phone locally for apx $85.00 provided the only thing wrong is the screen, if anything else is wrong with the phone you are out of luck!! so be careful with R2 he has just become impossible to replace.

That's a good idea, I shall infringe upon it. :D

FWIW I used have the Metroid weapon upgrade sound as my SMS notification, it was cool until someone else I knew started using it too. So now I gotta move on.
