    Hi everybody,

    Hope everyone is keeping well!
I am running Insertcoin and am considering flashing the recommended radio for the ROM. I m having no problems with my current radio, however I have read that new radios can give a little performance boost.
However, I am not sure what an RIL is? I thought to flash a radio, I just download the radio .zip file and flash from recovery.

    But if you go here:

    Index of /Desire_HD_Base/InsertCoin/Addons/Radio_and_Ril

There are four files - two .zip files and two .md5 files.

Which do I need to download and then flash? I do not want to brick my phone, as that would be incredibly annoying!

    Thanks for your help

You won't need the RIL. You don't really need to be messing with that.

If you're s-off, use fastboot to flash. If not, yes. Recovery.

Which radio are you going for?

Yes should be fine. Make sure you download the md5 too.

These are files that give a value based on the file you download. You download the zip, check the md5 value matches the file (using an md5 application on pc) and if they match, it means the zip is complete and not corrupt.

This should safe guard you against any issues flashing the radio because flashing a corrupt radio is often irreversible.

Here are a couple of programmes to do that. Ive not used them though.

Thanks man. (Please dont shout at me) but I have a Mac so cant use those programs. But I found a way to get md5 values from files using terminal using this method

Check MD5 Hash on your Mac

If I just cross match the numbers with the one here

    http://baadnewz.lcdc.sk/Desire_HD_B...dio_and_Ril/32.54.00.32U_5.14.05.17_RADIO.md5

    Will that be ok?

I have done it and the numbers match so is it safe to flash?

If the numbers match, all should be ok.

Thanks a lot SUroot. I installed the .zip from the sd card, rebooted from Recovery as instructed and a little box with a little Android outside of it appeared and I shat myself...thought it was bricked!

But the phone booted and working fine now! Phone lagged a little when first turned on, but fine now.

Thanks for your help - again!
