Support Random SMS fail

    Is anyone having issues with sending texts and having them randomly fail to send? Probably 1 out of 5 of my sent texts fail (audible notification), and it will resend a couple of times, and eventually go through. Never had this issue with my MT. I just wonder if it's my phone or the network.

    My phone is doing this as well, it is def the network.

    My advice is too call Virgin Mobile and speak with there technical support dept. I was having the same problem, let them re-provision the phone. Once I had my phone re-provisioned the problem went away.

    I did.... But after a manual PRL AND Network update (then a reboot) it hasn't had another error! Hope it works for someone besides myself

    I called them- that was a waste of an hour and a half... the foreign CSRs are a MAJOR time-waster.
    They're sending me a new one- they said it's a problem right now. Too bad they're back-ordered.

    I am also having this problem. It fails to send but then maybe a minute later it sends after a few reattempts.

    I am almost 100% sure it has to do with the fluctuating signal issue that is prominent with these phones, but then again, it could be network errors.

    It only happens to me maybe once every 2 hours of constant texting.

    Happened to me too but I updated profile then prl and haven't had any issues since :)

    I would only suggest something like that- if you connect w/an English speaking CSR- the foreign ones have no clue as to what active listening is- and if you ask them a question- that isn't 'in flow' w/their script it screw them up- and they don't know how to respond.

    Do you have the problem when the phone is plugged in via USB to a computer for charging or in Dock mode? That's when I have the problem... so, I'll unplug it to send....

    The problem still exists for me - it doesn't matter whether the phone is plugged in or not.

    This is a common issue with this phone. It is actually related to the 4g antenna for some reason. I have found that when the issue happens if you toggle your 4g off (even if it is not connected) the text will go through and your reception will come back. Sometimes I find I have to toggle 4g on and off. I hope they can get this corrected.

    I leave 4g off 99% of the time and have the sms fail issue.

    I know but toggling it makes it go away temporary for some reason it is related. I'm not a dev and can't dig deeper into it but I've been messing with it for days now and it's a solid conclusion others have pointed out as well.

    Ah, I see what you mean now. I'll try it out next time I get multiple sms fails in a row. So I wonder if VM will be able to fix this issue then?

    today the virgin angels told me do menu>settings>system update>update profile... no sms error messages yet (knock on wood)

    I've done that several times...along with a PRL update and checking for new updates.

    they told me to do that too- but, I've found that the 'mobile network' isn't on when the wi-fi is on, and that's why I get the errors w/my SMSs (cuz' they don't go through)... I guess we'll have to keep on 'updating Profile & PRLs occasionally in order for our texts to go through... sigh. Oh well- @ least it's better than a Triumph:rolleyes:
