Just got a new SGS2. Loving the phone.

But it'll just all of a sudden stop playing any kind of sound. Nothing at all. Then a few minutes later it just cuts back on.

While this period of no sound is going on, I'm not able to play music. It gives me an error that says "Sorry, the player does not support this type of audio."

When the sound comes back on (I know when it does because of all the menu clicks and the keyboard sounds) I'm able to play my music files with no error.

I've Google'd this and it seems a lot of people are having the same problem but I just can't find a fix for the audio randomly cutting out.
Also note that nothing will play through headphones when this happens too.

I would suggest calling up AT&T and having them send you out a new one or if you are still in the thirty days take it back to the store

Ah, I figured someone would say that.

I got it off ebay for a nice price to use with my Straight Talk plan. The thing is I already returned one because someone sent me a dud the first time. So I got a brand new in box one never used, and I'd hate to go through that all over again. Ebay returns are such a hassle.

But I guess that's what you get when you want things really cheap.

Maybe when ICS comes out the problem will go away.
It's not bugging me much because it doesn't happen too often.

Well it stopped for awhile but just did it today again twice.

I opened the task manager and cleared the memory and exited all apps.

... Then my system sounds and all music and notifications started coming through the ear speaker.... My phone then ran out of battery. I restarted and it's normal again.

    I'm so confused.

I had a problem with media starting and stopping, and no sound from youtube, although I had sound from ringtones, so I knew the physical speaker worked. After some research, I did a factory reset. No luck. I uninstalled all apps. No luck. So I did a 5 minute battery pull. No luck. Finally, I did an overnight battery pull = remove battery for 8 hours. Woke up, and assembled the battery to phone. My homescreen had 2 old icons that were right on right before I deleted the apps the night before. Maybe there is a buffer stack overflow in the droid deletion routine? (question for the devs). And so to continue, I started up my tunein radio and the sound and program work perfectly! Long story short, just try taking the battery out for 8 hours to fix your phone! ;-)
