Since my update to Jelly Bean, I no longer can find any HDMI settings. In addition to that when I do use HDMI from my RAZR HD to my HDTV the picture is horrible on my TV. The picture looks flawless on my phone, though. It seems that there is a setting that is wrong on the phone, but as I said, the settings for HDMI are gone. Anybody know where these settings are now?

i hooked mine up last night to tv and it was awful, grainy, and my phone crashed and rebooted after playing a couple of vids or youtubes, had to start over and keep pulling the hd cable from the phone. i'm doing a factory reset today, so i'll let you know if it helps the hd tv situation.

Mine is not even working with my HDMI cable. My TV detects it is plugged in but no options show up on my RAZR HD maxx with a fresh install of jellybean 4.1. I know the cable works because it worked with the original RAZR with ICS...

    Any updates?

I havent tried any video's, but I hooked up my HDMI to my phone, and played Angry Birds. It seemed to work well. I'll have to try netflix later, and see if its working.

ive tried it now on two tvs, using the hdmi cable purch at verizon for my rmhd. post-jb, it still crashes and looks grainy and horrible on the tv screen while great on the phone. it only works for about 4 to 5 mins then the phone crashes and reboots, and the tv will not recognize the input source anymore after that. i can't find out where to change hdmi out settings on my phone...anyone got any tips. again, it was working flawlessly on ics. just hooked the phone to the hdmi in on tv and it worked great. i hope this is a known bug with jb, and dev's are working on a fix. hdmi out was part of the reason i liked the phone so much.

I just got off teh phone with verizon, and they say this is a known issue, and moto is working on a fix for it. As of now, there is no time frame as to when to expect a resolution.

I just tried playing a video via HDMI for the first time since the update and it seems to be working as it did before JB. Maybe I just got lucky.

Still no word on a fix for this issue. I recomend anyone that has the same problems with the HDMI conectivity, give Motorola a call, so as to make them aware that this isnt an isolated issue.

I had the same issue going on. The problem is the new resolution will not convert properly with the regular cable from Verizon. Pictures etc look fine but HD movies no grainy and not watchable. I bought a high speed micro HDMI that said it was for 3d 1080p resolution and it fixed my problem. Not very expensive either I found one at Walmart for $16.00. Make sure you get the 16.00 one and not the 10. Fixed my problem.

I have only had my phone for about a week and the hdmi out works fine on mine. There are a lot of different unknowns in this situation and its hard to tell which one it is. It could be the movie, the HDMI cable, the TV, or the app that you are using to play the movie. I use a $14 cable I bought from wal-mart.

At the Verizon store they had the RHD(demo) hooked up to a 40 inch Samsung flat screen and it looked horrible. Even the home screens looked grainy. They also had the phone hooked up to the usb charger at the same time. I have never used both hdmi and usb at the same time so this could be an issue.( I would test it right now but I'm at work)

    Hope this helps.

I also was using the high resolution cable from verizon which really isn't the best cable for transferring the signal. The one from Walmart worked for me on the RAZR HD and corrected my problem. My old cable from Verizon still plays my old razer movies fine running on ICS.

Got a call from a Moto tech today, and he was asking about my issues, and things I have done to fix (FDR's, Cache wipe, etc.). He said its definately a software issue, and he's gonna call me back tomarrow.

Very interested in what you find out. Mine still crashes and reboots, along with the grainy video quality. Wonder if anyone else has the crash/reboot issue?

I'm new to these phones but I'm pretty well versed in CB radios...

If you read the package on CB coax cables they all say they are the same too...but it only takes one key of the Mic to figure out you can't run 150 Watts of power through a cheap Barjan coax...the more expensive Wilson coax, with the same specs, works just fine...

I expect HDMI cables ain't much different...its all in the quality of the components used to make the cables.
