Hey everybody!

I had a tech question that I'm stumped on... I'd like to use my Razr Maxx as an alternate internet solution when my regular internet goes down. I can get my laptop connected via USB tether but I cannot figure how to get my Xbox 360 to connect to my phone so I can link up to Xbox Live if the situation calls for it.

Initially I plugged the phone in directly using USB, no dice... Then after doing my homework it seems some other phones can connect to an Xbox using the USB tether through a laptop.

So now I'm here with the Maxx hooked up to the laptop and an ethernet cable running from the laptop to the Xbox. But it seems that the Xbox is not picking up the cable connection. Whats the next step that I'm missing?

***my phone is not rooted right now and Id like to try to keep it as close to stock as possible. I'd like to avoid doing this over the wireless hotspot feature although it has worked for me in the past***

Any help would be appreciated

Download "Foxfi" from the marketplace. I use it for wireless tethering and it's FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Your Xbox, if you have the wireless capabilities, should just detect it like any other wireless internet. If not, I have no idea

Good looks on the tip, FoxFi works like a charm!!! Easy, fast, no root required...

As for my carrier being concerned with my data usage...funny story. I got a phone call from Verizon when I had my Droid X. It was a rep offering a special promotion for high data users. The deal was renew my contract and I get a Razr Maxx for free strait up!

At first I was skeptical. I asked why am I so special that you'll give me a free $500 phone. The rep said " 96% of their users stay under 2GB of data per month...I was averaging between 14-16 GB a month." At this point I started to think it was about data abuse. But he claimed " with my unlimited data plan, its not a problem... we just want to get high data users off of the slower, more heavily used 3G network and get me on the faster, less crowded 4G network...thats all."

I said " where do I sign"... And now i am the proud owner of a completely free of charge Razr Maxx!!!:D
