RE: apps and widgets

I noticed some apps will stay on my screen and not take up all of it, i.e. with my calender I can still see other buttons ect..
Yet others require that I launch the app (and when I do it takes over the screen by creating a new one thereby not allowing me to see the other apps) i.e. when I try to do streaming quotes a new window will open up.
What can I do to get it to stream within the same window?

That's just the difference between an App and a Widget. Nothing you can do about it short of trying to get the App dev's to make a widget.
