Welcome to the Android Application Development forums. This forum is designed to facilitate (and hopefully provide answers to) questions regarding the design and development of Android applications and games. Below is a briefing of what should and should not be posted in this section.

What should I post here?

As mentioned above, this forum is meant to aid application and game developers, whatever experience level, in finding the answers to their design and development questions. This forum is meant to host any specific questions one might have, in hopes that our talented developers might be able to assist you. When posting a question in this forum, please be sure to provide the relevant information regarding your question, including:
• Any code snippets you might have, surrounded with
Code (Text):
1.  tags. Please do not provide full source code. Only provide the relevant snippets.
2. [*]A thorough and easy to read/understand description of the problem you are experiencing and what you have and have not tried already to resolve the issue.
3. [*]The log cat output that is generated when your problem occurs.
4.
6. Providing all of the above will result in the highest possibility of an answer and will ensure that the answer(s) that you do receive are accurate and sufficient.
8. Please make sure that any code that you post is surrounded in the
tags so that it retains its proper formatting and is easy to read. Failing to do this will likely result in little to no replies as reading unformatted code is very bothersome and most will not even attempt it.
10. You may also post discussion topics from the following categories:
11. [*] Monetization
12. [*] Marketing/Sales
13. [*] Tutorials/Samples
15. What shouldn't I post here?
17. All questions are welcome.  Vague questions like "How do I code this app" aren't ideal, so try and be a little more specific if you can.  The more info you give us, the more help we're likely to be able to give in return.
19. Also, please do not ask our developers questions such as, "Can you please give me the code for this app?" Please keep in mind that the developers that provide the answers to your questions are strictly volunteers and are not paid to write code. If you wish to have an app coded, you can either post it in the App Request forums, or simply PM a developer and attempt to set up an outside contract.
21. Please note that the rules mentioned above are not a comprehensive list and any board-wide rules also apply to this forum and all of its sub-forums. At the same time, if there is something not included in either this post or the board-wide rules, it is safe to assume that it is allowed until otherwise noted.
23. Thank you for helping make Android Forums the great place that it is,
25. Staff
