I am looking to see if anyone knows of an app in the market that would be able to give me real time traffic updates on traffic jams, construction, accident ahead and perhaps offer an alternate route to bypass it. Can Google MAPS do this? If not, is there an app in the market that can do this? I am hitting the road tomorrow for a road trip and that would come in handy!!!

    Thanks!!!

Google maps has it, at least on my version of Gmaps it does.
I used it along with my GPS when I drove down south to SC and the areas where the traffic were slow it was accurate. You just need to turn on the show traffic in the Layers section.

Google maps will allow adding of the traffic layer.

Waze may or may not be good in your area depending on the number of users that are in your location. Also it tends to lock up on my DX and force close a lot
