Help Really hot and short battery life

Hi guys, I have problem with my hero. Yesterday moorning I pick up my phone and first thing i discovered was a fact that it is really hot, I went to the battery setting and it says 58

I'd say it's a faulty battery, perhaps a failure in the internal circuitry that has allowed an overcharge resulting in damaged cells. Try replacing it first.

I have the same problem with my defy. i took it in to t mobile and they said its the phone

Hi, I know this topic is quite old but as it is on first page on google so I will reply and then someone can close it. Problem here was ROM, not hardware fault. I take another hero battery and i had still this same problem so i decided to change my rom, before i had VillainRom 12 and now i switch it to MoDaCo r5 and it works well. after about 5 hours of playing game, using internet and listen music i have 45% battery left and maximum temperature was 27*C.
