    might seem a daft question but i'm going to ask anyway.

    i am on o2 and debranded my phone when it was on 1.6 so i could update to 2.1
    now that o2 have released the 2.1 update i was thinking that it could be wise to flash back to 1.6 rebrand my phone to o2 and then update it again back to 2.1
    although this is a little time consuming more than anything else, i know its not a hard task.
    but is there a way to rebrand the 2.1 to o2 without this hassle?

    mainly thinking this could be a wise thing to do for the warranty if ever needed (again).

    i am rooted so if its a simple code change (as it was with 1.6) then i can do that easily enough
    i see at the very bottom of the default.prop file
    ro.semc.version.sw=1227-4612
    ro.semc.version.sw_revision=2.0.A.0.504
    ro.semc.version.sw_varient=GENERIC
    ro.semc.version.sw_type=user

    i assume i can maybe change that to the o2 codes?
    my old code was 1234-4762 so changing the first line seems to make sense but unsure if it is that simple.
