i had been running the original gb leak for a while (with some minor issues). bit the bullet and .sbf'd to stock .340.

starting there, i was able to power/hold-home to an '!' icon, hit search, and get a scrollable menu. i did a wipe/stock .596 load from .zip and it completed without issue.

phone is fine so far, with one exception...

the same power/hold-home procedure produces the icon *much* faster than from .340, and once it appears the phone is locked...none of the buttons seem to work (even held) and it takes a battery pull to reboot (where it will come up normally).

    ideas?

i want to install a CRT animation .zip and can't get 'install from zip'...

You need the Droid 2 Bootstrap to install the .zip through Clock Work Recovery. But to get into the stock recovery, for future reference, you need to hit both volume buttons once you get to the triangle after holding down home and power
