Help Red/Pink Hue fixed yet?

For those of you who have recently purchased an Incredible, have you noticed a pink or red hue in your screen? To see if it's red/pink, turn your brightness all the way down and it should be fairly obvious if it has it. Also, please post your manufacture date if you do not have the hue issue.

To be honest, I have never seen a pink hue on any of the DInc I have used. There was a big misunderstanding about the stock messaging app, which has a slight pink (or perhaps salmon) color to it's background. Many thought this was a defect, but it is not. When viewing a white background, there is no pink hue. I have never seen it or heard of anyone I know wiht a DInc having it.

iirc this is an OLED thing. Yes I have it but only on the lowest brightness setting which is unusable unless in very dark conditions. What's weird is that when using the desktop clock app and turning on the "night" mode which is very dim, there is no pink hue....maybe because there is so much black on the screen at that time.

Every Incredible that I have seen (five) has some sort of red/purple/pink
hue when you turn the brightness all the way down...

As long as you don't see this hue in any mid to high brightness setting,
it is normal...

I got mine on April 27th and there is no pink/red hue except in Gmail (which I think is normal).

My dad received his like May 5th and I just saw it this weekend, and there is definitely a pink hue no matter what. I put the two phones side-by-side, and mine definitely did not look the same as his. It's worth noting the pink hue is not very noticeable unless you put it next to a phone that doesn't have it.

I am curious if this is a defect that needs attention (and an exchange for him).

Mine does have it at the lowest settings. I compared to a friends Incredible. However, at the brightest setting, there was little if no difference between them. This phone has a whiter white than my monitor on my computer so I can't really complain.

Did you ever bring this to Verizon and ask them about it. I am considering doing so. My girlfriend has this phone as well and there is a slight pink hue when at the lowest brightness level but I have a pretty noticeable pink hue when at the medium brightness level and her's is still white at that level. Overall the hue (even at maximum brightness) between the two phones is noticeable different. I am wondering if an exchange is warranted as I must keep my phone at least at 60% brightness for it not to be annoying.

It seems it could be adjusted through some kind of app that could modify color settings like on televisions. Does any such app exist?

In short, whites should be white. If your whites are pink, something is wrong.

For a longer and more in depth explanation, the first post of this thread is best.

I see the Pink Hue when I turn my phone on...I always turn it off to charge and when I turn it on I notice it at the HTC Incredible Screen it is redish pink.

I have my brightness set at 62% and its not that noticeable unless I compare it to another phone. When at 50% or less it is definitely noticeable though.

This is not a flaw, it is how OLED screens are. End of story. Even if it was a flaw, it would obviously be hardware-related. It amuses me to no end how people think that every single complaint they have about the phone is fixable with a software update.

"The back cover is too flimsy and makes creaking sounds when I pick up the phone... WHEN WILL HTC COME OUT WITH AN UPDATE TO FIX THIS ISSUE!?!"

My screen was cracked and I ordered a replacement phone. When I turned the new phone on, the white HTC screen had a very noticeable pink hue. I put my phones side by side and adjusted the brightness levels on both. The replacement definitely has a pink hue, regardless of brightness level setting. I sent the replacement phone back and just received the second replacement and it has the same problem but not quite as pink as the first.

@Ryanx27 - You can hardly compare a flimsy back cover to a hardware/display issue. Jacka.s.s.

Everyone who thinks the pink screen issue is not a flaw or a defect you are DEAD WRONG. Stop spreading lies!!! I have had 3 ins's so far because of this pink screen issue and believe me it is very real. My first inc was not so bad you could notice the pink only a tiny bit unless you turned the brightness below 50% then it was very noticable, but I decided to get a replacement anyway because hey why not. The 2nd inc was absolutely horrible I wish I took pictures to show everyone. Even with the brightness at 100% you could see all the white areas had a pink hue. Now before you start typing your response I'm not talking about the gmail app or that nonsense, I'm talking every thing White like the htc flip clock, google home page EVERYTHING. My 3rd inc is flawless the screen is beautiful and best of all no pink hue even with brightness all the way down. Light grey actually looks like grey now not a pinkish grey or totally pink at low brightness. So if you have a pink screen issue do yourself a favor and call verizon and get your replacement and do not suffer because some misinformed id!ots on these forums claim its fake because they lucked out and have a good screen.

Agreed ......... all you have to do is hold two phones side by side ... my phone happens to have the issue and my girlfriends doesn't .... it is definitely noticeable!

My first Incredible was manufactured on April 3, no pink hue. I bought 2 of them. My wife's Incredible still works fine. I broke the screen on mine and just got my replacement form Asurion. My new Incredible's manufacture date is July 10. There is DEFINITELY a pink hue in my new one. The HTC Incredible screen on boot is pink on my phone, white on hers. I have a friend with an Incredible too, his also is white. This sucks.
