When the phone rings, 8/10 times I grab it and touch the power button, and it rejects the call. D'oh!

I there a way to disable this reject button?

    Thanks

    Nick

I've had a look around the options but can't see anything to configure this - I would try searching the market.

I have the exact problem, the phone is exellent, but this very annoying problem makes me jump everytime the phone rings, afraid to reject the caller. Especially if I have the phone in my pocket . Anyone found a solution to this?

Yep me too. More often than not I cancel calls and alarms as I get the phone out of my pocket. I'm not sure if it's cos I'm pressing the power button or the screen but I'd really like to find a solution...

This is the one thing I hate about the phone. I keep doing this, and it seems like it should be easy to fix if only someone cared to.

You can reject calls with the power button! I didn't know that

Seems quite useful because I can never remember whether to swipe up or down and end up with the phone ringing away while I read the instructions.

Is there a button I can use to accept calls?

    Thanks :D

    Hi All

It IS a big problem with the call reject via the power button.

I wrote HTC support regarding this and got the following answer:

Hi Jan, Thank you for contacting us regarding Desire. Unfortunately there is no option to disable the reject call feature using the Power button. We have not had any feedback regarding this yet, but if this becomes a general problem - as in customers complaining over this feature - we will pass it on to our technical department in order for them to possibly make a change / fix for the devise. I will pass oyur feedback on to my superior, and if we have a You are welcome to contact us again for further assistance.

So I guess that I can only recommend that you all write to HTC Support regarding the Power Button issue - both the reject and the immidiate power on when the device is powered off.

The official HTC Froyo update from my carrier seems to have fixed this - the power button now mutes the ring, not rejects the call!
