First day of mobile announcements at CES and the Thunderbolt already is ending up way under the curve. Another feature to be considered is WiDi. This is a big one for me because this is gonna be a VERY big feature in just a couple months when more devices implement it.

I do believe this is a great phone and a larger screen would be great to have, but considering all that is missing from this phone this should have been released back in September. No dual-core, no WiDi, no NFC, most likely same old screen, apparently worse battery life which is pretty bad to begin with on current HTCs, no HDMI and the new Sense UI is gonna get pushed out to older HTC phones anyways.

Summed up, the only selling points on this phone is screen size, LTE, and form/aesthetics. It sucks that I hate touchwiz/blur and love Sense so much. I have a feeling this phone will not have a big dev team after it is released as well and that can be crippling for me.

Wait until things are official then we can talk about how much of a let down this phone is or isn't

Once all of these phones are released within a short couple months, dual core is gonna open up entirely new possibilities for apps in gaming as well as what these phones can handle. Thus far, I feel these phones have been held back because of their lack of power. Dual cores will make these phones essentially small tablet powerhouses that are just as capable as, say, netbooks. It's not about what is available now for dual cores to do, it's what dual cores WILL do very soon for the OS. Android version makes no difference. Better apps, better video capture/playback, better hardware to match processing power. I'm not gonna be stuck in the past when the future is happening now.

I have to say this. To those who keep saying stuff like, "why do you need dual core, etc"......Do you listen to yourselves? Every year...every time technology is advanced, people come out of the woodworks to say, "what do we need this for?...do you really need this?" It's called advanced technology, and yes, its better the previous generation's technology, and it allows your product to hold it's value longer, and usually allow you to have access to the latest, software, apps, and other abilities. Last year people said, "do you really need a 1Ghz processor?" Uhh...didn't we see how much better it was? Give that a rest, please. If you like rehashed phones like this HTC THunderbolt, fine, but lets have intelligent discussions please.

Exactly, but how is this so hard for some to understand? LOL, sounds like what a Blackberry Rep would say...do you really need a good browser? Whats wrong with specs from 1997? Are they not good enough?

Then I would wait until it is actually released to have those discussions. I agree with you completely, but nothing has been made official.

I hear you. But, more than anything else, HTC angers me. I want them to be All that they can be, like the ARMY lol. They have the best Android skin, and choose to have the weakest hardware in the game right now. Even LG has topped them. But, yeah, I'll save the rest of my rants for tomorrow. lol

I think you guys might have missed my point. I'm not denying that dual core is the future, it is and it's great. I'm just confused why people feel like they need it in their next phone, when I can't think of hardly any specific features that would make it a necessity.

It's the Incredible all over again. People get all hyped up then feel crushed when the device doesn't live up to their expectations. They'll call it crap, a has-been, etc...

I am still getting it. All I care about is a bigger screen. Also I am not paying, company is.

The difference is when the Incredible launched, it was at the top of the game. It was superior in terms of Hardware. The only thing that could beat, and some would argue that point, was the EVO that came out two months later. This time around, LG, Sammy and maybe Moto will have phones that are superior at our around launch making this phone a mid-low tier LTE phone.

Well this is just a rumor and speculation thread so why not speculate about how much of a let down to some this phone will be coming out with outdated hardware and specs

This is why. You go to buy a tv, and choose from 3 tv's. They all are released around the same time, and are the same price. 2 of those tv's are HD tvs, 240Hz, LED's. The 3rd tv is a regular hd tv. They come out all around the same time, and at the same price. They are all quality devices. Do you ask yourself, is LED and 240Hz really neccessary? Or do you do what makes sense, and get the most for your dollar? Now, add the fact that with the phones....you are in a contract, so its better to get the most technologically advanced product, than the one with the rehashed tech.

But how will that effect the annuals that the primary can get at ne2 price?

    :mad::mad:

Regretfully i wasn't part of 'The' incredible thread. I came on to the android scene right after its release. I honestly can't figure what about the incredible could disappoint (other than the battery). I mean i don't know what rumors were flying around but i was blown away by my incredible, especially coming from an omnia.

As it is i would like to get my hans on this device in store and play but my annual doesn't come till june so i'll be patient and see whats in store

If YOU dont understand then YOU dont need it enough said. Why does it matter what other people want? if you dont want it then who cares other people want it because if they are going to be locked into a contract they want tech that will stay high end for as long as possible now and days

No matter the specs the phone will dissappoint people, just the nature of the beast. And this thread is getting dangerously close to a flame war.

Hey everyone. As goat said, this could start getting out of hand.

I understand this is a speculation thread of a phone that is not officially released, therefore conversations can technically debate no official....BLAH BLAH BLAH.... :)

Just take it easy before posts start getting deleted.
