Would it be possible to control my Android from my computer, kind of like the emulator coming with the SDK? It would allow me to paste text and links directly from my computer, and type much faster...

  2. not sure, but afaik froyo should take care of that text pasting and a bluetooth keyboard will give you the typing speed (not sure which android version that requires)
and of course there's hdmi out at least on the evo (any others yet?), so you can have at it on a larger screen too if you've got that :)

You don't get a copy of your screen through the HDMI out.

  4. instead you get whatever a certain app is sending, right?

i'm pretty sure there'll be an app that runs as a service and duplicates your screen buffer to the hdmi out port sooner or later

You can ABSOLUTELY see and control your Android phone from a PC through the internet using 'Picme' it is free and in the market, but your phone must be rooted. I remotely access my Dad's phone all the time to show him things and help him tweak it all the time. I hope this helps.
