Root remote desktop help

before i rooted my phone, i was able to use various remote desktop apps, but now that im rooted and running the BACKside rom (latest build) i seem to get a "connection lost" or "connection refused" message on my phone, ive tried PC Remote Control (free), and Remote RDP Enterprise ($20 app) before i rooted, and they both worked wonderfully, but now they seem to not want to connect at all.
i do have remote desktop access enabled, and port 3389 open. so what gives?
any help? or step by step tutorials for any other remote desktop apps(preferably these 2)?
any help is GREATLY appreciated.

Try TeamViewer, works on just about anything and it's free.

works, very laggy, but it works.

phonemypc seems to work A LOT smoother.

LogMeIn, kinda expensive, but can do just about anything.
