I don't even know if this is possible, but perhaps someone could let me know. I am envisioning an application with an accompanying PC program that would allow you to access files on your computer so long as: 1) Your PC had the program running and was connected to the internet and 2) You had a data connection on your phone. I wouldn't be interested in streaming, necessarily, but if I knew I had a picture or document on my computer and wanted to get it to my phone, I could log on and remotely access it. Does that make sense? Is it possible? Better yet....is it already out there?

There are quite a few VPN apps. Or the Dropbox app.

HomePipe does a great job with this. I find it creates a slightly broader access than Dropbox. I would recommend checking it out. The app has worked flawlessly for me so far. Only complaint would be that I can't stream playlists of songs from my music directories. I have to access each song individually. That's getting pretty picky though I suppose.
