I just got my thunderbolt, and I am very surprised to find that it is stuffed with useless, unnecessary 3rd party apps. Furthermore, I can't seem to be able to delete them. These are things like BitBop, or Blockbuster. Things I don't ever see myself using.

How do i make them go away?

    Thanks!

You'll have to root in order to uninstall them. I *think* that there are some launchers that allow you to "hide" the apps so they don't show up in the App Drawer. That hides them, but they'll still be running/consuming memory.

yup, you'll have to be rooted to get rid of all that bloatware. Once rooted, you'll have the option of flashing a bloatfree HTC sense rom, or other cool looking roms and kernals out there.

Is there a way to "turn off" the 3rd party apps so they won't eat my battery life? I dont want to root my phone and void my warranty,
I don't know how to root and I don't want to brick my phone
