    Hi

Is there any way to remove the lables (the text) under the app-icon on a HTC Desire with 2.1 and Sense?

Not to my knowledge, short of rooting the phone.

Even rooting won't help, such a strange thing, you'd think it would be a standard feature of sense. Maybe someone should let HTC know??

DjLuke is correct, I was mistaken - Using LauncherPro instead of Sense will allow you to remove the labels, but you will lose the HTC widgets. Whether it is a good move for you or not will depend on how much you use them. I believe a LauncherPro upgrade has been launched/is due to be launched with a sense-like interface however.

Yes you can and you don't need to have a rooted phone.

Just use an app called folder organizer, you can create folders change the icons of apps and remove the text among other things.

Folder Organizer doesn't allow you to remove the text, as far as I know??

Folder organiser doesn't let you remove the labels. Unless it's a new feature they've brought in to the premium one?

Folder Oraniser certainly allows you to remove lables

    Long press
    Widgets
    Folder Organiser item
    App
Then untick "show text under item"
    Select app

Another option for removing the labels (and getting more icons on the screen) is Launch X

Trying the free version at the moment, but the Pro's extra features look worth it.

Yes this is true and it doesn't have to be the paid version. The important thing is to make sure you add as a widget.

This is only for normal widgets right? and not widgets that you have created custom icons for?? Like I can get Handcent to show without the text but not the custom icon i've assigned to Handcent in folder organizer. Unless I'm doing something wrong.

    Cheers
