Just be careful, I lost MMS functionality when I deleted it. So I reinstalled it and at that point was able to disable notification.

    Here are the basic steps:

Delete twmms.apk (obviously this removes default notification)
Install the mms.apk that was part of the original galaxy porrt (to restore MMS)
Open "Messaging" and now all options are editable.

I use Handcent as my default messaging program.

yes and no. tmo uses a hidden app called Device Management to remotely manage the device. When I got the phone, I used to have a myfaves plan and so my phone had the myfaves app on it. Once my plan switched over to the even more plus plan, it automatically deleted the myfaves app. Or maybe it just put it in a hidden place, not sure. There was a thread where people discussed deleting the cache of this app(40mb) but it would just regenerate later. But go ahead and try. If anything goes wrong, you can always factory reset, as long as you didnt mess with any of the /system stuff, or you would have to odin back.

I have the myfav app still on my B2, but the 40 mb is gone permanently now.

Removing the MyFaves app will Cause a None Booting Device if you do a reset..

The part of My_Faves left on your phone is tied in with your contacts , go settings app management and delete the My_Faves app cache and you will lose your contacts and have to resync them ...
But he's right it may cause a boot_loop as it will be a missing system app..

Yes I know this... But I'm Saying is Removing the App will Cause a None Booting system on a Factory reset, as it's looking for the tide in part for the system config..
