Can you explain what you mean by "incognito function"? I have a HTC One and nothing of that name on it, but if you tell us what it does we may be able to work it out.

If I have to guess what you mean I suggest looking in Settings > Call > Additional settings, since that is where the caller id settings are.

I think they mean the incognito function in the Chrome browser. I'm pretty sure there's no way to permanently remove that other than flashing a custom ROM then loading a different web browser.

Don't even have Chrome on my phone, which may explain that word meaning nothing to me. So is this just the same as a private window Firefox, "ghost mode" in Ghostery, etc?

But if it's a browser feature why not just not use the feature, or use a different browser (disabling the one you don't want if you can't uninstall it)? Or use one of those app locking apps if you are trying to prevent someone else using it?

I didn't think of locking apps apps. Locking out Chrome should disable incognito mode.

If the Chrome one is meant, I wonder why you would want it disabled. It provides a nice sandbox, to open click bait sites, etc.

So I can monitor my child's searches. I was just made aware that someone in school showed it to her

OK, if it's a feature of the Chrome browser I don't think you can separately disable that - it's just part of the Chrome app, the same as opening multiple tabs or having a back button. All you could do is block Chrome completely, install a different browser that doesn't have the feature and force her to use that.

The drawback is that it's obvious what you are doing in that case, and there are other ways round it if you put your mind to it (just clear your search history, or install another browser which does have the feature, since it's pretty much a standard browser feature these days). But that's all I can suggest.

That is a futile effort. She could go to the site, directly, or use any other search engine, and you will never know about it.
