    Hello,
Firend of mine has SGS2/Epic. When the phone is locked, and she receives a text message, it shows the text message contents in the notification bar. Is there any way to remove this feature? to prevent peering eyes from reading an incoming text while phone is locked.
    Thank you.

Yes you can. First open the Messaging application, then select menu/settings, scroll down to "Notification settings" and remove the check mark from "Notifications;Display message notifications in status bar". This also stops all text message notifications, not just the text in the status bar.

Yep if you un check that box it will not inform you, however market apps like chomp sms allow you to do this, remove the visual written notification in the status bar, but still keep your audio notification & mesg icon! It also let's you adjust the number of vibrations your receive during an incoming mesg.

Thank You Very much Netcat & SamSmalls.
As of right now we've disabled all notifications as described by Netcat.
However, we're very interested in the chomp sms app described by SamSmalls. In the near future we'll be trying that out.
But the main thing is, you both were very helpful, and it is apprecited.
    Thank You again.
