I have searched google and the forum here. I have also looked on the phone, but it is possible I am missing the setting I am looking for.

Under the People 'app,' there is an updates and events tab. I am a bit OCD, and will clear notifications after I view them. However, facebook has about 7-8 notifications that are "stuck." A few say multiple updates and others say uploaded new pictures. I have viewed each of the notifications many times at this point and they still will not clear. Does anyone know how to clear the Updates section on the Updates and Events? I do have the facebook app installed and I am willing to remove it to make this go away. It's starting to drive me nuts!

Thanks.

Have you tried clicking on the menu button on the bottom of the phone when you have the "updates" open or on ur screen and hitting delete and then putting a check by all of the messages and hitting delete again? < ocd here as well , I am tryin to find a decent face book ap as well.

There isn't an option for that. When I refer to the People app, I mean just the default contacts application. When you hit menu under the Updates and Events page, you only get two options: Data Connections settings and Update Now.

Any Ideas anyone?

Today I removed the facebook application and the update notifications are still there. I now believe this to be caused by the default facebook integration within contacts. Does anyone know how to clear the updates from that?

Go into "settings>social network" and log out of Facebook. Then bookmark Welcome to Facebook | Facebook (you can even make it a shortcut on your desktop) and use that until they come up with a good FB app. You could also download a FB app that has notification on the phone to get notifications locally.

I have been totally bugged by this too. From all my playing with this it's something ON Facebook that is constantly or periodically auto-updating. Can't get rid of the stuff. I unchecked everything in Facebook then I followed the instructions above and went to >Settings>Social Network and Logged Off Facebook. That got rid of the pictures and updates. So I booked marked Facebooks webpage and I go there and log in to get anything that is important to me. I don't know if this solves the problem but it's a good work around for me to get rid of the junk off my phone............

Hope this helps.......

I just let my Social Networks > Facebook update once every 8 hours. Any time updates from people come in, I just hit 'clear'.

I sometimes go to People and click on my own contact at the top, and go to the Updates area, and update my Facebook Status from there.

the idea of changing the Update status is a good one.
I would recommend removing the facebook app and using BLOO instead

This isn't a Facebook App issue, it's a Sense UI issue. If you go under settings, social, then menu, and account settings, Facebook, then uncheck update notifications. You will then need to log out of it through Sense, restart your phone, and log back in. The Facebook App just searches for friend requests and messages, not updates. It's Sense UI that gives you all the update notifications. Trust me, i've had to do this sooo many times when i've accidentally hit "Update Now". Each time I accidentally do, I cringe.

I'm neurotic myself and have never had a problem worth unnecessary updates. I just hit clear and move on.

I'm way more into how my home screens look and how my phone operates when I show it off to care about my sense facebook updates. I use the built in functionality to have contact pictures for everyone. That impresses people. No one will think my phone is less cool because I have some extra notifications. Its not that big of a deal in my book.
