I've read several places that you need to root in order to remove stock apps. However, when I was browsing through Astro tonight, I found the apps folder on the Evo, and when pulling up the apk of them with the App Manager, the uninstall button was available. I didn't click on it, because I wasn't sure if there would be any ramifications. Will I just get an error that says, I can't unistall it? Has anyone tried this? Thanks!

Root is required to remove stock apps. Then I use System App Remover.
