Okay...I went over the new Verizon tiered data plan a few times Verizon's 'DataGate' plans leaked in excruciating detail -- Engadget However, the one question that came to mind was this... "If I'm currently on an unlimited data plan and I renew AFTER July 7th, will I still have unlimited data." I called Verizon, so did a co-worker afterwards, and we both got the same response. "If you currently have a "smartphone" (They didn't say "unlimited data plan", but then again, you do need one if you want to use their network to surf the web on the phone) and you renew your contract after July 7th, you keep your unlimited data." Obviously, I'm still going to call Verizon occassionaly as we approach that day and will even go into a Verizon store (not a reseller) to make sure that statement is accurate. If it is.... I'll be waiting for the Samsung Galaxy S2 or the iPhone 5 if the screen is bigger (which is likely not the case). Hope this helps!
