Repeating text notification

S20+ with 13.0. I have searched and cant find a way to shut this off. If I receive a text and don't actually open the text I receive another notification within a minute or so. Is there a way to stop that?

what text messaging app are you using? check your setting for the text messaging app you are using.

Using Google messages. I've looked and there isn't anything. I should clarify I'm only getting the one visual notification but a 2nd audible one if I don't open it.
