Here's a real-world request: In my job I spend a great deal of time on conference calls. I dial a number and then 6-8 seconds later I'm asked for an access code. Using the default dialer, I can't dial the number, 8 seconds worth of pause, and the access code. Now I know that I can use the Contacts to dial a number and insert a Pause or a Wait, but I don't want to clutter my contacts with conference lines. It's useful sometimes, but not always. I might consider it if I could save a previously dialed conference call -- with pauses -- to my contacts -- much more useful after the fact when I know the number is right! I've seen other apps billed as dialers, but they seem to rely on the same underlying interface. Droid's fun, but in need of interface design work.
