I dropped my s5 and cracked the screen but it was still functional and working.
I had my phone taken by the police as evidence for a charge against me.
4 months later when i got it back, i thought it was flat so i tried to charge it but it just kept getting hot and not turning on.

So i figured I would replace the screen being the only visibly damaged part.
    It still doesnt turn on.
Battery was eliminated as the trouble as we tried another good one.
Any suggestions on what might be going on here??
