My US996 just needed a new screen so I ordered a replacement. I screwed up the replacement procedure so bad that I now I either must order yet another one, order a whole US996.

They are getting harder and harder to find.

So if anyone knows of a good source to search for a US996, please let me know.

Another alternative is just get another phone like a Samsung or whatever. Would want BL to be unlockable and TWRP installable. If I I go this route I'd like to have wireless charging and a wrap-around screen.

Sorry for all the requests, but I have not kept up with the market for a few years, and figure one of you may give a little FREE advice.

    Thanks........ BOOWHO???

i would suggest a new phone. your LG came out in 2016.......that is way to old for phones these days.

and sammsung devices with a snapdragon processor(mainly found in the US) will have a locked bootloader so stay away from those sammies. maybe an older pixel phone? those definitely have an unlocked bootloader and are easily rooted.

Thanks for this reply. I screwed up the SECOND replacement screen and decided your advice was the best.

I now have a Pixel 4 XL purchased "new in box" from Ebay; it will be here in a few days.

Well, another change...... The Pixel 4 XL has not worked for me, so I sent it back for a refund.

Then I managed to find a brand NEW V20 H910.

This phone is pretty much identical to the US996, which my OLD v20 was; and it's on it's way to me for $135; and it's brand new.

SO..... This idea hit me..... I still have the mother board for the old V20, and thinking of replacing the the mother board from the new H910 with the one from the old US996. Crazy idea??? Anybody???

And yes I know the V20 is ancient, but my needs are not near as great as many "average" users.

    Thanks all......
