I'm new to android, and I can't seem to replace the default messaging app icon with Go SMS Pro. My brother has an android phone, and simple held down on the icon until it shook and removed it. This would not work on this phone. I also tried another tip I saw for droid phones, which also do not work on this phone. I'm stumped, so any help would be great.

To clarify, I mean the icon on the app tray.

I have the same phone and have the same problem. i fear that since we have an older generation phone, we simply cannot edit our home screen icons (the phone and message icons)

I'm really hoping for a simple fix for this as well. I've rooted my Optimus T, but I don't want to install a custom ROM just to change one icon.

If you use most any custom launcher from the market you will be able to replace the icons easy.
