Hey all, I've been an android user for about 3 years or so if I am recalling correctly. Been loving it the whole way! In any case, I currently have 3 devices. My brand new Galaxy S3(which I could not love more!) AN HP Touchpad 32 gig(firesale unit). and a B&N Nook Color Both the Nook color and Touchpad are rooted via Cyanogen Mod 7. But the functionality of the S3 has blown me away and left me wanting a better tablet. Looking at all the options out there, I see the Kindle Fire, the galaxy Tab 2, the Motorola Xoom, and the Acer Iconia and the Asus Transformer. I think the biggest question remains size. I love my nook color for its pocketability, but the big screen of the touchpad is so awesome.... Now, I'm not an extremely needy user, but I have a few things that I do need it to be able to do. 1) Google Play market access - whether I need to root or not(not rooting prefered) - I want access to an unrestricted google Play market. I hate AT&T and their limited version of the market. I have purchesd apps like isynchr and some backup apps that I need. 2) USB OTG cable access also required - I deal with a lot of digital media. Every movie and tv show I buy, I rip with my computer and store them on backup drives and carry a portable Tb HD with me which I can plug into my Galaxy S3 and play any of the content with MX player. With the 7 or 10 in tablet however, I also need it to be able to read/use a USB keyboard as I write frequently and would like to be able to write faster than the onscreen keyoard while on the go. 3) Internal memory(or with SD slot) 16gb minimum, micro sd card slot not required if memory greater than 16 gb but prefered. space is not a real issue when access to a tb hard drive and OTG cable exists.... 16 gb is plenty enough for the OS, apps, and my music collection(only about 8gb). So the final question I have is one of size. I have both a 7in table and a 10 in tablet - or is the HP 9in.... - either way, I like both. I honestly use the HP more than the Nook, but it does require a case. If I am going to the doctors or mechanic or whatever, I take the 7in. as I can fit it in a coat pocket or cargo pocket. What do you guys think? 10 gets you a better/bigger screen for movies, web surfing, typing, gaming, and reading. but 7in makes it more transportable. I watch netflix on my S3 once or twice a week due to down times at work, so the small screens not terrible. but the 10in also gives more room for more powerful hardware in theory. I think the Tab 7 and 10 are the same processors, but am not 100% sure. Any input/advice/suggestions/directions/comments/concerns/random-unrelated-statements welcome!!
