Reset Touch Input, want old keyboard back...

I have an HTC EVO and the auto-correct on my text messaging was full of words I didn't want in there. So instead of completely searching everything and discovering I could remove individual words I went to the the "Touch Input" app and hit "clear data". Well now on my text messaging I have a different keyboard that doesn't function or look the same as the old on. It makes a clicking noise when I hit the keys which I can't seem to turn off. I just want my old keyboard back! Any suggestions? Thanks.

that sounds like you have swype as the default now. Have you tried going to settings, language and keyboards, and going down to 'select input method'? you can select android keyboard there. Or, just go to the market and find one you like and select it. I recommend swiftkey x. it costs 2 dollars, but well worth it.

When you have a typing field open, just long press on it and select input method.
