Retailers selling the Evo V 4G for $149?

I'm considering this phone, but I would like to get it for $149 instead of $249. Or, do you know of any retailers that would price match this, straight from the vmusa website? Thanks!

A lot of people prefer to use a brick and mortar store, much simpler to exchange a defective item. At least Amazon doesn't charge tax but since Virgin does you might as well buy it locally.

Best Buy's stated price match policy is that they will only match the price of local brick and mortar retailers or bestbuy.com prices, which would suggest they will not match Virgin Mobile's $149 price for the Evo V.

I'd love to hear from anyone who purchased the Evo V for $149 from Best Buy based on their price match policy. I'd rather buy from a brick and mortar store.

Radio Shack has the same policy but because of commission sales many managers simply ignore it as long as you have a printed ad showing the sale dates. I usually get my electronics from Amazon because of free 2nd day super saver shipping and no sales tax. Amazon makes returns super easy and free, they actually schedule UPS to come to your house and you print the free return postage label right from your computer. :D

It will be up to the individual Best Buy store. I think most Best Buy stores try to honor Internet prices but I'm not sure they will be willing to take $100 off the phone. It never hurts to try, though; the worst they can do is say no.

For 2 days I traveled to multiple Radio Shacks and Best Buys trying to see if they would price match Virgin Mobiles deal of 149.99. Every Radio Shack around here seemed very prepared for the people inquiring and the answer was hastily No, but they were polite about it.. The Best Buy's I hit up I got the same result but atleast they flirted with the idea of doing it, but ultimately they determined taking an additional $100 off was just way too much and they could not do it. Many of the Employees were surprised of the low price. If Virgin had it for $200 I think they would be more inclined to honor it as it's only $50, but the blowout deal of 150 is just insane in all honesty for what you get. I don't know what BBY or RS gets them for, but I'm not sure there is any room for profit at 150...Is there?

I'm just shocked, that's an awesome price for this phone. Half the price from what I payed when it came out. Seems like just a few months ago but when I think about it, its been longer then that. When was it released on virgin? This phone is perfect for me. When it was released on sprint I only wished I could have it cause I knew it was perfect for me but couldn't afford it. I was stoked when I heard it was coming to virgin as I was already on virgin. I'm still lovin it and its even better with 4.0. now for that price... Score. There gonna have to.come out with something really nice if they ever want me to buy another phone.

Well, long after Christmas day, I have to say this is a beast of a phone. The screen resolution is awesome, especially coming from an mdpi phone. CM10.1 is amazing, Google Now is awesome, and the level of Dev support is amazing. ROM updates come almost every weekend, and new ROMs come every once in a while.

I highly suggest this phone over everything else that is offered by VMUSA. My parents ordered it online for $149.99.

Is it a good phone if I have no intention of rooting it?

Yes. Updating fixes the messaging issues. Only other bad thing I have come across is the battery life.

IMO... if you have a Nexus 4 on T-Mobile, the EVO V on Virgin is a downgrade.

Battery life is not to bad. It seems just as good or bad as any other phone I have had. Is it worth getting? For 149 that's a no brainer. Insane price for a awesome phone. I'm loving it everyday.

Since I last posted, I switched from the Harmonia rom to MidnightRom Senseless and played with some of the phone settings. Now I am getting what I consider to be good battery life...

I can only suspect something is getting close. I just seen today the evo was down to 140. Can't believe the triumph costs more... Why? All of there phones are down on price by quite a bit. Something has to be coming. LTE would be great, however no sprint 4g is in my area. However some nicer phones would be great. I've had the evo since it came out and its time to upgrade.
