I accidentely dropped my HTC Rezound in a cup of water today. Right now it is currently in a bag of rice in attempt to dry it out. I was looking on the back of the phone and battery and it doesn't seem to have the same indicator (white dot with Xs on it) that older verizon phones had. Can anyone speak to if there is an "wet indicator" and what I should look for as to indicate that it was wet. Thanks

It's opposite of the contacts on the bottom edge of the battery.

kinda seems weird there isn't one on the actual phone but just the battery. couldn't you just buy a new battery to fool the service provider. i'm pretty sure all my other devices have had them on the phone.

I wonder how many phones are typically damaged around New Years.....

Not sure about there being a "wet indicator" on the phone itself but if you did get the standard insurance from Verizon it does in fact cover any type of liquid damage. You will have to pay the deductible though.

I wish I had a good story about New YEars....but it feel off the couch into a cup of water on teh floor...of all the places it could have landed. well i haven't had the phone for 30 days that is why the question comes to mind. could probably just buy a new battery and return it. would be out $25 for the battery but may save a lot on the long run. not sure what to do at this point. i guess i'll see after the rice bath.

I haven't found one on the phone itself but honestly didn't look. Just happened to notice the sticker on the battery. If you pull the battery immediately after it got wet and let it dry completely you may get lucky.

    whatever they let me do
    wherever I can
Pull the battery out and its on the right side ( opposite side of sim card) against the side of battery enclosure.

okay just wanted to give an update so if anyone else searches getting their rezound wet they will know what happened to me.

the rice DID WORK! i left it in rice for 3 days never taking it out (to keep all the air out). just turned it on tonight and worked flawlessly. made one test call then called Verizon to put insurance on it! i hear some phones may stop functioning due to the corrosion after months. even though i think mine is fine since it was only water with no salt better being safe and spending $20 for a few month than be out a $600 phone.

also both my indicators on the phone and battery are red. i think it was just hard to identify b/c the whole back is red and i've never had a phone like that before. thanks to all that helped out and hopefully this won't happen to anyone else and if it does, pop out all the extras (battery, sim, sd) and rice for 2-3 days.
