    WHY SO SOON!?!?!?!?!

Just my luck. Can we re-stock and then purchase this online?

I wonder exactly what the below entails...

I think they used wrong terminology...if you go to buy, it's only one cent for new customers, 229.00 if bought as upgrade.

If I bought this from Amazon and have an issue with it, does anyone know if can I go to a store to get it swapped out for a good one or do I have to send it back to Amazon for exchange?

So soon?!! I just got Best Buy to match Amazon's $199 and now this? I switched from Sprint to Verizon in getting this phone so I'm guessing I wouldn't be a new customer any more and won't be eligible.

Oh well, still thrilled that I got it for $199 at a Best Buy!

It's only for new accounts. If you try to upgrade the price goes back to $229. Amazon does the penny thing a lot. Still, even though I paid $269, I feel like I got a deal.

Edit: Just saw hovercraft already mentioned this.

all their phones are a penny right now, not just the rezound, with a new contract

Ok I have to ask this because curiosity is eating me alive. I was a new customer to Verizon when I got my ReZound exactly one week ago. If I returned the phone to order it from Amazon would I still be able to get the phone at the penny price? If it were $50 I'd say oh well but it's hard to laugh off $299.

You have a few days to cancel your contract with Verizon and return the phone (I can't recall if it's the 14 days or 7 days). You'd have to cancel completely and then you'd have to ask Verizon how long it takes for you to be out of their system completely so that when Amazon processes your order they won't come back and say that you have an account already opened with Verizon. If you ported your number you can say goodbye to that number if you do cancel service. $299 is by no means chump change, but if you do cancel and get on with Amazon, just make sure you're aware of all the possible headaches that you can look forward to and ask yourself if the possibility of that inconvenience is worth $300.

OP would you mind please adding to the title of this thread "new customers only" or something to that effect.

It's also a penny if you add a line.

My question is it confirmed if I add a line and get it. Can I immediately switch it to wifes number and replace with dumb phone and drop the data?

$10 for adding line X 24 + .01 is 240.01 cheaper than upgrade price through Verizon and my wife isnt eligible to upgrade now anyway.

How did you get BB to price match? The "policy" specifically exempts on-line only retailers.

Its not only for new customers. I just purchased a rezound for 1cent adding a line to my account. Should arrive this Wednesday just in time for the holidays.

Yes that will absolutely work. I just confirmed with Verizon before purchasing mine on the new line. :D

Here is another scenario for you guys:

I have 2 phones that are out of contract. Could I port the numbers to a different carrier then port them back to take advantage of this?

Or would be be possible/better to add a 3rd line on then port the number to the new line somehow or would I have to go to a new carrier then come back to Verizon?

Any thoughts on if this is possible or if issues will result?

The upgrade price at Wal-Mart is $219 and Best Buy will match it. Go on-line to Wal-Mart Wireless put the Rezound in your cart, and print off the page and take it to Best Buy. They did a price match for me with no questions asked or hassle since I had a print out.

They have a 14 day total exchange policy where you can void your contract and up to 30 days where you can get an exchange.

This is very tempting. What is the disadvantage of using amazon. I'm still going to wait till blackfriday/cyber monday to see if verizon runs a good deal (last year it was $59 for tbolt and I've been told all 4G phones will be on sale but not how much this year). I mean I don't mind paying a little more for local service but $300 or even $200 is a bit steep.

It wont touch the penny sale.

And yes called csr and confirmed you could. Even chatted on website and took print screen to make sure.

Wife is happy now she's getting rezound too.

I asked really nicely. Actually a friend of mine did, and then I came in a few hours later and got them to do it again. They were reluctant, but the manager was able to do it.
They sold me on the buy back program, though, so they still made bank.

Ok I just got back from my Verizon store. I told the rep about the price on Amazon and asked if they could match it, she said no. I then asked how long is the window for me to cancel my contract with them if I wanted to take advantage of the Amazon deal. She said I had 14 days from the time of purchase. Then she told me that I should be aware that signing with Amazon isn't exactly the same and just signing with them. You actually end up with two agreements and you have severe penalties that can come from it. For example if you get the minimum minutes plan and then see you will need more minutes. If you make any changes to the plan you signed you can get those changes but you are subject to a fee that can range from $50 up to $400. Also if you have any overage what so ever you not only have to pay the overage fee amount to Verizon but you have to pay it to the company you signed with as well like say Wirefly or whoever Amazon is using. So you get double fees. There was some other stuff she said like being able to just exchange the phone in store if there is a problem versus mailing it off and etc. There was more but I honestly can't remember at the moment. I am curious if anyone here can confirm this type of thing to be true?

Basically the only good news I came away from the store with was she asked me about my employer and apparently I work for a company that gets a discount. 25% and they can also can waive my activation fee if I bring them a pay stub showing I work for that company. If what she told me is true I think I am just gonna stay put. Dealing with the whole headache of canceling, waiting with no back up phone, reordering, reinstalling my stuff on the new phone, possibly losing the number I transferred to Verizon, plus opening a door where I might be unlucky enough to get a dud phone with problems...sigh. Just looking to confirm what she said at this point.

I think some of it is bullshit (not 100% sure here). According to amazon website the terms of their service is that you have to keep the plan for 181 days or it is $250 payment. Now if bestbuy would honor the $0.01 deal ....

    Here's another question:

I'm eligible for an upgrade on my main line. I know I could do the penny deal with Amazon and add a line, change my numbers around and cancel the line that is upgradeable. BUT... I'm grandfathered into the unlimited data. If I go that route I'd lose that, wouldn't I?

That stuff about buying from Amazon is FUD. I've purchased and returned from Amazon Wireless with no problems. I think she was trying very hard to avoid a lost sale.

I just got back from a Best Buy mobile store and they price matched Walmart at the 229 price. If you have a BB mobile store around go to that instead of the regular store much better experience and they were very helpful.
