I am new to the adroid phones. I purchased a samsung captivate, beautiful device. My only problem is when getting an email attachment of a rtf file I am unable to view/read it. I have tried for over a week and have download several free along with purchased apps from market but am still unable to open one of these files.

Is there anyone with a samsung captivate that has or can read/view a rich text file? If so how do you do it?

    Thanks in advance.

You can go to the android market and download this app call ThinkFree for free and it opens up the .rtf format on my Verizon Droid X. Hope this helps you and others also.

I had the same problem. Think free could read the files, but getting it set as the default RTF reader was difficult. I tried using Free Documents to Go, and it brought up the requester which allowed me to set thinkfree as the default app.
