right i have a new google g1 and i cannot update to cupcake

i get aborted on the yellow writing
and i have some error at the top of all the writing
sorry im not being specific i just dont want to try again incase something goes wrong until i know what im doing wrong
ive tried
changing memorys cards
formatting to fat and fat32
update and update.zip
no being pluged in to computer etc
also my firmware is r8 and its 1.0 not 1.5
any one have any ideas why im getting the standard errors

I can only run on the assumption that you are running a stock G1. If this is true, then you will be unable to update cupcake using the files provided around the internet, including those found on HTC's website. The one's on HTC's site are meant for the Dev1, and others require you to have root access.

In other words you need to root your phone to do it or wait for the OTA release....
